j2 ideas & events

FAQ

fast answers to questions about j2

Q

What scale of event do you handle?

Think "Riverfire" (the most challenging pyrotechnic event in Australia), "Ms Brissie to the Bay" (Queensland's largest participation charity bike ride), the "AirportlinkM7 Bridge and Tunnel Experience (a community open day for Australia's largest road infrastructure project)”, and "SU QLD Frontline Chaplaincy Appeal Dinner" (which fund-raises more than $500,000 from the evening). j2 creatively directs and event manages this scale and complexity of project.

Q

Do you work on 'small' events that don't have large participation numbers?

Yes. Whether you talk with j2 about a one-room function or a public celebration involving crowds in the tens of thousands, you have our attention. All events 'great and small' are important to the j2 team.

Q

Do you own events or underwrite them?

No. The events j2 is associated with are typically owned or underwritten by a public sector, private sector or not-for-profit organisation.

Q

Can you help our business build an event from scratch?

Absolutely! See our work with Gladstone Ports Corporation on building their Botanic to Bridge fun run. Botanic to Bridge has become north Queensland’s largest participation fun run.

Q

Why should my business consider j2 above other event managers?

The j2 team concept creatively and strategically, sharing a partnership with you and learning about your brand and business objectives. You can buy as little or as much capability from j2 as your event project requires. j2 can coordinate your whole event or support your business with selected services. j2 brings a consistent track record of seamless event coordination – on time, within budget and to stakeholder expectations. We can prove that event ideas we develop and manage, achieve targets.

Q

Is j2 ideas & events a PCO or professional conference organiser?

j2 is experienced in conference organisation. We've even worked with Volvo Group Australia to organise conference events for UD Trucks, including a 'money-can't-buy' experience for their conference dinner. But we're not what you'd call a 'standard' PCO. We're just as comfortable planning a gala dinner inside an underground tunnel, as we are managing the course logistics for a massive cycling fundraising event of 5,000 riders, or producing a high-end spectacular dinner for 1500, or even organising the national sales conference and dinner for a corporate delegation of 150. We're not afraid of anything!
